Our motto at ADVroad.com has always been to bring the untold stories of adventure riding to a wider audience. We love sharing what knowledge we’ve gathered and bringing together a growing global riding community from all walks of life. We enjoy finding those not so often told tales and giving credit where credit is due. Thus, with the festive season upon us, we at ADVroad.com have curated the most missed adventure riding products of 2018. In our opinion the ones that didn’t get enough press for the quality they offer to the global Adventure riding community. Some you might know about, some you might have been looking for and others might flat out surprise you. Over the next week, we will be publishing 6 daily mini-articles on each of these products. First up, in our minds, is the most durable yet light and versatile rucksack specifically designed for Adventure riding and Overland travel on the market;

The Enduristan Hurricane 15

The Hurricane 15 rucksack from Swiss adventure outfitters Enduristan is made from a three-layer fabric and features an easy to use and robust zipper for the main compartment making it completely waterproof. “The fabric is a supreme high tech material made with an extremely abrasion resistant polymer top layer to protect your belongings. Below this, sandwiched with the inner vinyl layer, is the embedded 1000D Nylon mesh middle layer which is densely woven yet remains flexible to allow the mesh to align in the direction of stress for maximum tear resistance.” This helps the rucksack maintain its shape and gives its class-leading durability. The pack is well thought out and is perfect for days spent riding trails far from the tarmac or carrying extras on extended overland adventures. Internally the main compartment features an addition 4 smaller pockets of varying sizes, a keychain clasp, and a mini elasticated molle type system for holding anything from pens to flashlights. Extra velcro patches are also sown into the compartment allowing for optional inserts to be easily installed and arranged.

At the front of the pack is a handy mesh pocket accessed through a velcro style top port, making sure that whatever you place in there won’t go lost on the trail. Low slung bottle stowaway pockets are also collapsible and flanked by one of the two sets of compression straps that encircle the backpack. At the rear of the pack sits a plush back support that allows aeration and a comfortable fit. The harness straps themselves have six points of adjustment that guarantee a snug yet comfortable load bearing fit with the chest clasp featuring a beefy H frame load distribution. Tucked away between the back support and the pack is an easily accessible H2O pocket for a rehydration bladder. The package is completed by dual loops on each shoulder strap to hold the drink tube in your preferred place of reach. A superb rucksack for days on and off the bike that will last you much longer than what you remember paying for it.

Pros: 100% water, mud, snow and trail dust proof. Incredibly comfortable and durable. Only comes in Black so goes with everything

Cons: Don’t put anything small in the bottle stow pockets. because they will get lost. Trust us on this. Only comes in black

Tip: Also purchase the HydraPak HP03 water bladder from Enduristan when getting this backpack. You’ll be happy you did.
